OUT OF THE WOODWORK: BRAVERY OF WORDS

Now that DJ has burned one too many people, we are beginning to hear from people who have been close enough to understand what really went on with drill team members and leaders.  Thanks to a former principal, there is a letter in The Victoria Advocate that is very clear about her experiences with DJ on her campus.  I appreciate her letter and her part in the reassignment, but it did leave me a bit confused.  The principal has been gone for awhile and yet the reassignment just happened.  How did what DJ do years ago have any bearing on the reassignment now?  If the accumulation was so heinous, why wasn't it dealt with years ago?  How many charges were there and how come a release of contract wasn't the result?  I have no idea of what part this principal played in the reassignment, although she claimed to have aided in this procedure.  Must have been an awful lot of stuff going on throughout the years that nobody was brave enough to deal with.  Those poor brainwashed girls and families who are still backing DJ.  It's almost like they need to go to one of those anti-cult centers to have their brains rewired.  DJ's motto is DDDR; does that stands for Damage Darlings Daily Repeatedly?  Her LEGACY is the damaged girls she left behind.

  1. "If the accumulation was so heinous, why wasn't it dealt with years ago?" THAT'S what I want to know. Why didn't Porche deal with it by reassigning Jaynes years ago? Why now? Sounds like sour grapes to me. I don't think ANY former principal should come out now and post these things now. Unprofessional and Sour Grapes. Porche was ineffective.

  2. The way I read the letter, Porche started the process to have Jaynes reassigned, but the process was stopped by others, and never happened.

I don't think the recent reassignment was connected in any way to Porche's efforts. That was so long ago. Now did the decision makers look back at ALL the history of the teacher involved? I hope so, if for no other reason than to be able to say they have considered ALL facts and factors in coming to the the final decision. They would have seen the good as well as the bad if they did.

  3. I will graciously accept correction if I am mistaken. As I recall, Ms. Porche stirred up quite a bit trouble when she attempted to "reel in" some of more independent teachers at VHS. Just as we have seen recently, there were public outcries from supporters of Debbie Lord Castillo Jaynes, a celebrated basketball coach, and a yearbook sponsor journalism teacher/KVIC deejay to name a few. Many other teachers and district employees jumped on board. Ms. Porche left VHS. It was with this in the background that nothing more was done about DebbieLCJ. The constant flow of administrators that have come since probably heeded the warning. She used the public outcry over consolidation to build even more support that reached way beyond campus administration. Nothing could be done for a very, very long time. While I did not support Ms. Porche's actions at the time she was principal. I think that her letter was an interesting addition to the discussion.

  4. I was typing on a phone, and I did a terrible editing job on my comments above. My apologies to Truth Ferret and her well-educated readers. I know better!
